Blood groups

The ABO blood group system defines the blood groups

Blood group A

So, Blood group A contains antigen A and antibodies B.

The Blood group B

Blood group B has antigen B and antibodies A

Blood group AB

So, Blood group AB contains antigen AB and has no antibodies.

Blood group O

Blood group O doesn’t have any antigen but has A and B antibodies.

There is also a protein present which is called Rh protein. It is also considered important. If factor D is detected, the Rh is positive, and if not present so any other protein is present, and it is called Rh-negative.A+, A-, B+, B-,AB+, AB-,O+, and O -.

And thus, these are the eight types of blood groups.

Blood group O is a universal donor, and blood group AB is a ubiquitous receptor.

Test to know your blood group

The blood can be found by analysis if any doctor recommends you can perform this analysis by taking antibodies A and B. Take the blood sample on two glass slides. Now add antibodies A on slide 1 and antibodies B on slide 2. Now mix and observe the result.

Clotting appears on slide 1, so the blood group is B, and if the clothing appears on slide 2, so blood group is A. The two different antibodies present on the same blood react and cause clotting. To find the Rh factor, mixed a few drops of the blood sample with serum. If the protein can be visible on the cell surface, it is Rh-positive, and if not, it is Rh-negative. Your blood group is also mentioned on the birth certificate, and if you are a blood donor, it also is said on your card.
